    MA in Climate and Society Virtual Info Session with Faculty Panel

    This online information session will be hosted by the Columbia Climate School administrators and will include a presentation on the MA in Climate and Society curriculum, learning community, admissions process, and financial aid offerings. The information session will also include a Faculty Panel and Q&A, please review our website in advance and come with questions.  All are welcome to attend!

    Featured Speaker: 

    Lisa Allyn Dale -
     Lecturer in the Discipline of Climate. Professor Dale is the Director of the MA in Climate and Society program at the Columbia Climate School, where her courses include: Sustainable Development in Rwanda; Challenges of Sustainable Development; Climate Change Adaptation; and Qualitative Research Methods. Trained as a political scientist, her research on environmental policy focuses on climate change adaptation in two distinct settings: rural agricultural communities in Sub-Saharan Africa, and wildfire risk zones across the American West.

    Sheila Foster - Professor of Climate. Sheila Foster is a tenured professor of climate at the Climate School and an affiliated faculty member at Columbia Law School. Professor Foster is a leading scholar of environmental and climate justice. She is known for her articles and books in the field, most notably From the Ground Up: Environmental Racism and the Rise of the Environmental Justice Movement (NYU Press). Her research spans a broad range of topics, including innovative resource governance regimes, land use policy, and the role of subnational governments and local leaders in addressing cross-border challenges such as climate change.
